Stay safe from fraud: A genuine employer or licensed recruitment agency never asks you to pay
large upfront "visa guarantee" fees before a real job offer and contract are signed. Always verify the
employer/agency registration, get everything in writing, and never hand over your original passport to
anyone except official visa/immigration counters.

🇯🇴 Jordan
India is an established source country for Jordan's workforce
Jordan's foreign workforce genuinely includes South Asian workers from India, Bangladesh, and the Philippines alongside Arab nationals — this is an established, ongoing recruitment channel, not a one-off.

Special scheme for Indian restaurant cooks
Singapore's Ministry of Manpower runs a Non-Traditional Source (NTS) Occupation List scheme specifically allowing Indian restaurants in Singapore to hire cooks from India at Work Permit level — created to help preserve authentic Indian cuisine there.

Requires 10 years' professional experience
Japan's main route for Indian chefs is the "Skilled Labor" (Ginou) visa — specifically designed for chefs of foreign cuisines (Indian, Chinese, French, etc.) that Japan considers hard to replicate locally. This is genuinely demanding: at least 10 years of professional culinary experience is required (culinary school training counts toward this), and your salary must match what a Japanese national would earn in the same role.

Labour market test abolished (June 2025) — simpler now
Employer in Poland registers with the local Voivodeship (regional) office and obtains a Type A work permit on your behalf

🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Harder since July 2025 — read carefully
Important: Until July 2025, most chef roles qualified easily for UK sponsorship. Since 22 July 2025, the skill level required for a Chef visa was raised to RQF Level 6 (degree-equivalent), making it significantly harder for standard cooks to qualify — only formally qualified Chefs, Chef-Managers, and Sous Chefs with the right paperwork are realistically eligible now, and salary thresholds are high (~£38,700–£41,700/year unless the role is on the Immigration Salary List).

🇬🇪 Georgia
New mandatory work-permit system from March 2026
Important: Until early 2026, foreign professionals could often start work in Georgia with minimal formalities. Since 1 March 2026, Georgia requires a mandatory work permit alongside your visa/residence permit. Indian nationals are not on Georgia's visa-free "easy path" list — you will need a D1 Immigration Visa before entering to work, followed by the Special Labour Permit itself.

Good news: Under Italy's "Decreto Flussi" (2026–2028 plan, ~165,000 work-visa quota per year), India is explicitly named among the priority countries with reserved quotas for both non-seasonal and seasonal work — including hospitality and food service roles.

Only 8,500 total permits/year for all non-EU nationals
Important: Switzerland only accepts genuinely skilled, qualified professionals — trained chefs, pastry chefs, and sous chefs qualify, but kitchen helpers and unskilled roles generally do not.
